The painting conveys the warmth and soul of the Buryat land. Soft tones, broad brushstrokes, and an airy composition create a feeling of coziness, peace, and true hospitality that runs through this culture. It’s a story of a home in the steppe — distant, yet close to the heart.

I live and work in Ulan-Ude, a small city in Siberia, not far from the deepest freshwater lake in the world — Lake Baikal. I find inspiration in the nature of my native Buryatia, in its culture, people, legends, and endless steppes. My paintings are a dialogue with tradition through the language of color, texture, and form.
I work with acrylic and oil on canvas, often using a palette knife — it helps convey the energy of the stroke, movement, and emotion. I’m drawn to abstraction: it gives me the freedom to express the storm of inner feelings, to weave into my work yurts, shamanic symbols, and the wind from Baikal — everything that is meaningful and dear to me.
In 2024, I took part in art exhibitions in my hometown of Ulan-Ude, where I presented a series of works titled “Grains of Asia.” This series was inspired by the poetry of Buryat poet Namzhil Nimbuev and became an attempt to reinterpret national imagery through a contemporary artistic lens.
Art, for me, is a way to preserve and rethink culture, to discover new meanings within it, and to share them with others.
