AYNUR KUCUKYALCIN

Artist from Istanbul. Works with symbols of ancient Anatolian civilizations including Hittite, Hellenistic, Byzantine, Seljukid and Ottoman heritage. Acrylic and natural paints on natural paper.

She graduated from the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts Academy , Istanbul, “Stage, Costume Design and Visual Arts Department”. She opened her first personal exhibition in The Archeological Museums of Istanbul with the title " Zeitgeist - The Spirit of Time".

She is concerned with the concept of "Time", as perceived by different cultures.

I, Aynur Kucukyalcin, believe that;

1- anyone who does not know his/her past will not be able to create the future,
2- to be literate is not enough to catch the times, but philosophical infra-structure and esthetical insight is necessary,
3- an artist will have something to say only if he/she has a unique and sound philosophy,
4- art will only rise with the consciousness of the treasures of the lands we live on,
5- artist may only see the cycle of time by his/her eye of the heart,
6- comments on artwork with decorated words does not contribute it to become an work of art,
7- concept will only become art if it unites with perfection of artisanship,
8- genius ideas are not enough to attain art,
9- artist has responsibility to inspire the artists who will live a thousand years later,
10- today’s art will become the subject of art history of the future,
11- culture is a continuously recreated concept.
