Pieter Breughel has always been my favorite Flemish Old Master and I have made a few drawings with a big wink to his works. On this drawing I have depicted a Flemish village of around 1650 with peasants telling the story. We see a housewife, done with her shopping entering her house, A father and daughter coming back from their work at the field while a young pair are discussing what to do next. We see an older couple with the wife telling something to her husband. A young fellow is following them. In front of the pub we see a woman trying to pull her partner away from going back inside and a visitor from the pub is getting rid of to much beer. Near the entrance of the in we see a few empty beer barrels. A small stream ripple peacefully past the village.

He was born in Amsterdam, engaged in a seaman's career but due to family circumstance had to stop this. Studied then at the Graphical School in Amsterdam, and became an industrial photographer. He lived and worked in France, Italy and Spain. and because his job traveled to many countries. The last years of his working live he was engaged as a professional truck driver, this for a change. After his retirement he decided to settle in the Philippines, this on advise of his wife. Now he has more time to be active in his real artistic love, drawing and illustrating his day dreams. Because of his many years engaged as a photographer he has a large amount of photos which he often use as example for his drawings and illustrations.
