This sculpture, "Flow of Blue", is inspired by the fluid and organic shapes found in nature. The flowing lines and open structures evoke natural elements like water, wind, and rock formations shaped by time. This sculpture, "Flow of Blue", is inspired by the fluid and organic shapes found in nature. The flowing lines and open structures evoke natural elements like water, wind, and rock formations shaped by time. Working with stoneware allows me to capture the robustness of nature, while the glazing process takes on a life of its own. The blue and purple glaze spreads unpredictably across the form, much like how nature charts its own course. The influence of natural processes and the act of relinquishing control in glazing highlight the connection between the organic and the accidental.

My name is Anniek van Geene and I'am 24 years old.
I studied ceramics at Sint Lucas (Netherlands) and graduated in 2021 with my final project, "Ceiling the Moon." After completing my studies, I opened my own studio and worked part time for an artist. Since 2022, I have been employed as a ceramic technician at Royal Delft. In May 2024, I opened my new studio in Geertruidenberg, where I offer workshops to pass on the craft and demonstrate its unique qualities. I find it importend that people know how ceramics are made. In September 2024, I completed the professional course in ceramic industry. Currently, I am working on my first collection, inspired by the organic forms found in nature.
