Two freshly caught fish and a couple of onions, one already peeled - a simple scene, yet rich with atmosphere. This is not just food - it’s an image of time: of silence, labor, and honest craft. There is no decoration here, only the sincerity of objects and quiet tension, as if from an old tale.
The dense background is built with both palette knife and brush, blending earth, salt, and light into a textured surface. Cool silver accents on the fish and warm ochres in the onions create contrast and subtle drama.
This still life is a reminder that simplicity often holds the deepest meaning. It speaks of the life cycle, of food culture as a sacred act - just as the old masters once did.

Anna Parhimovits is an artist from Estonia who works with oil and pastel techniques. Born in Kazakhstan, she grew up and now resides in Estonia. Her work harmoniously intertwines Russian and Estonian cultures, reflecting her life journey and multifaceted perspective on the world.
Inspired by nature, architecture, and emotions, Anna creates landscapes, still lifes, and abstractions where classical style meets contemporary forms.
Her artistic journey began in 2000, and since then, Anna's works have resonated both at home and abroad. She is a laureate of the international competition HABITUS BALTIJA (2004) and a participant in the collective exhibition ART WOMAN '97. In 2018, her solo exhibition, titled "Let’s Get Acquainted," was held at the Russian Theatre Gallery in Estonia, showcasing pastel landscapes and still lifes.
