Since distant antiquity, reflections have captivated the imagination. Narcis-sus was famously the first to fall under the spell of the reflected image, long before the mirror became a limitless source of creation. The object of fascination for writers such as Lewis Caroll and Oscar Wilde, and a subject that has inspired countless pain-ters, reflections allowed photographers to re-configure reality, to appropriate it.What, you may ask, is more ephemeral than a reflection. However, for a brief ins-tant, reality is caught on a reflecting sur-face. My aim in this series is to capture that moment, to trap the light. First, by an easily identifiable represen-tation, then by approaching the reflected image, ridding it of the abstractions by emphasising the graphics, finally seeing the newly emerged forms and presenting them. It is my way of reflecting reality through my own sensitivity, and to engrave perma-nently what would have been merely the ephemeral.
Depuis l’antiquité, les reflets cap-tivent. Narcisse en fit d’abord les frais, avant que le miroir devienne une source inépuisable de créations. Objet de fasci-nation pour des écrivains comme Lewis Caroll ou Oscar Wilde et sujet d’inspiration pour les peintres impressionnistes, les re-flets autorisent les photographes à tordre la réalité et se l’approprier. Alain Poggi est de ceux-là.Ainsi, nous dit-il, quoi de plus éphémère qu’un reflet ?Et pourtant durant un bref instant la réalité est représentée sur une surface réfléchis-sante.Mon but, dans cette série, est de fixer cet instant, de piéger la lumière.D’abord par une représentation facile-ment identifiable, puis me rapprochant de l’image reflétée, dégager des abstractions en privilégiant le graphisme, enfin voir des formes naître et les mettre en scène.Une façon de refléter la réalité avec ma propre sensibilité et inscrire dans la durée ce qui n’a vocation qu’à être éphémère.

Philippe Lesage, artysta-fotograf, swoją pasję do fotografii pielęgnował od najmłodszych lat, kierując się dziadkiem i aparatem z miechem „Lumière”. Od Traverse du Prieur w dzielnicy Saint-Louis po Plage des Catalans, przez stary port i La Joliette, odkrywa Marsylię swoim obiektywem.
W 1971 roku Philippe Lesage zadebiutował w świecie fotografii jako asystent laboratoryjny, operator drukarki i fotograf ślubny. W 1975 roku zdecydował się skierować swoją karierę w kierunku edukacji specjalistycznej, jednocześnie kultywując swoją pasję do fotografii, wykorzystując tę sztukę jako narzędzie edukacyjne dla młodych ludzi w trudnej sytuacji.
Po kilkuletniej przerwie Philippe Lesage powrócił do fotografii w 1998 roku, ponownie łącząc się ze swoją miłością do tej sztuki wizualnej. W latach 2008-2013 brał udział w kilku wystawach osobistych i zbiorowych, następnie wyróżnił się portfolio zatytułowanym „Impresje Ephémères”.
Jego talent został doceniony na arenie międzynarodowej, gdy jego zdjęcia zostały wybrane do wstępnej selekcji w międzynarodowym konkursie fotograficznym HIPA 2013 w Dubaju. W 2014 roku został finalistą Grand Prix International de Photographie de Saint-Tropez, a w maju tego samego roku wystawił swoje prace na Place des Lices w Saint-Tropez. Kontynuuje swoje wystawy w „Toucouleurs” w Nîmes w lipcu i sierpniu oraz w Aigues-Mortes w sierpniu i październiku 2014 roku.
