Originele kunstwerken zijn elk werk dat als authentiek wordt beschouwd en geen kopie of imitatie van het originele werk van een kunstenaar. Originele kunstwerken kunnen elk type schilderij, beeldhouwwerk, performance of andere media zijn. Er zijn veel soorten originele media. Gemengde media zijn onder meer olie-, acryl- en aquarelverf. Voor werkplaatsschilderijen die getuigen van vakmanschap moet deze toeschrijving genuanceerder zijn. Hoewel ze om verschillende redenen misschien minder waardevol zijn, hadden de reproducties en kopieën een enorme impact op onze ervaring. Ze bereiken een breder publiek dan de originelen en werken als een tonicum tegen commodificatie. Het oorspronkelijke werk zou ook kunnen verwijzen naar het eerste werk, dat altijd voorafgaat aan alle andere. Het kan ook verwijzen naar een prototype of een model waaruit andere werken kunnen worden gemaakt. Elk werk vertoont grote overeenkomsten met het origineel.

Worked at Fine Art Bronze Sculpture Foundries for 10 years, while also creating and publishing independent mini-comix and participating in international Mail-Art as “Aardvark Farms”.
Returning to creating art after starting a family.

In the past few years, I started a blog to expose my art on the internet. From that I realized how my art has only a few niches and how within each media, my style stays on course.
To me, abstract art is raw and unfiltered. But throughout my career, whenever I attempted it, it gravitated towards a landscape feel. Completely unintended, but it took me awhile to realize this and “give in” to it.
My other media has not been as prominent in the past decade or so. Namely the Comix and the Mail-art / Collage.
I prefer to work on multiple drawings at a time. Recently I would pick 10-12 various colored papers (standard size) and then mix a specific acrylic paint color that I like and put some of that color on most of the pieces of paper using a painting knife or a brush in a very free flowing manner.
Then I would mix another wonderful color and do it again and maybe more as I feel it needs.
Once dry, I’d look at them (even with a mirror and upside down) and decide how to embellish them with ink and color pencil. Doing these is so much fun and I hope it shows.
