CAS
This painting contains everything that I want to say about ART. Art is not exclusive. Art is not only for “the happy few”. I compete with the greatest and also with the lesser gods. I´m unique, like every living soul. So that makes Art religious, divine, spiritual. It is mentioned in the Holy Bible, God created mankind according his own image…. we are divine and creative too, so we ARE God!! To create something out of the blue or better the white (canvas), gives more satisfaction than the finest orgasm.
I will continue giving my own explanation of this painting, because, like mentioned in the booklet “the little prince”, by Antoine de Exupery, “Adults need an explanation for everything!!”
The painting is called CAS.
Why?
I don´t remember, my strange mind doesn´t explain me!
I began to draw German WW II, helmets. I always found them fascinating. Like a child I painted little model soldiers in their original colors (or what I thought of it was of course). The little German soldiers were my favorites. Don´t get me wrong I´m not talking politics here!
The German helmet is hypnotizing, its color and its erotic shape. So I´m drawing with in the back of my mind the great symbol of suppression, fascism, mass behaviour etc. That´s what the Art market is for me and also that´s what religion is for me.
Who decides what? In my country autodidactic artists, painters are, in general, not taken seriously. If you are not one of us, you are out! Who is capable of really having his or her own opinion!? Which by the way has nothing to do with “knowing something about….”.
A striking flashlight, love at first site, a feeling, an own interpretation of an artwork, a painting. Most souls are mass animals, jumping in the water if they are told to, if they want it or not.
So while I was drawing patterns of helmets I formed chicks. Like chicks (or maybe more symbolic “a chicken without a head”) we run after whatever new Guru or new trend.
So I started to paint based on this new sketch. The big chick turned into a big air balloon, freeing itself from the big bad world, but there still a basket under his balls putting fire under his ass. It´s not so easy being free!
CAS
My blood brother Wil shares the same feelings as I, we are identical twins. I work under the name CAS which in Spanish stands for: Claridad Alcanza a la Sombra. Brightness keeps up with the shade. La Sombra or the shade is the day to day reality in which we live. As the human society demands, we have to live according dictated rules and we always have to follow something…whatever it is. CAS encourages REAL ART. For CAS Real Art has to do with the untouchable drive to create something out of the blue and no one telling you what to do.

Of course is everything written as a kind of a childish wimp or a momentary impulse, but that´s the way I explain my opinion about ART….following my own Guru…Pablo Picasso.
