In Greek mythology, "Elysium" is also the habitat of mortals at the end of their earthly existence. The ruler of the Isle of the Blessed is the god Kron. The souls of the righteous walk along the Champs Elysees — a beautiful meadow of unfading flowers, surrounded by a fabulously beautiful forest, spend time in conversations and enjoy eternal life.
Later, Virgil, the Roman poet of Er, the author of the Aeneid, describes it as a place of retribution for mortals.
The same "island of the blessed", which was most often located on the distant "western islands", in Celtic mythology, is called "Avallon" ("Apple" or "Island of apples").
By the way, the Britons of Somerset (South Britain), Avallon called their god of the other world. His possessions were called Inis Avallon, that is, "the island of Avallon."
According to Welsh and Irish legends, the mortally wounded King Arthur was transferred to the island of Avallon (lat. "insula Avallon") after the Battle of Kamlan by the fairy Morgana.
The Arabs also have stories about the overseas Land of happiness and immortality, on the Happy or Eternal Isles.
The idea of ​​the "Islands of the Blessed" in traditional East Slavic culture is also associated with the legend of Buyan Island. Not only the mysterious stone Alatyr resides there, an evergreen tree grows there, on which the birds Gamayun and Phoenix sing.
Many conspiracies begin with a mention of him “On the sea on the Ocean, on the island on Buyan, on the white-burning stone Alatyr ...” for a reason. For whoever finds this stone will fulfill all his desires.
The Indo-Aryans and the Chinese are different families of peoples, however, in Chinese legends there is a detailed description of the islands of the Blessed in the treatise Li-tzu. In the eastern part of Bohai Bay, far, far from the shore, there is a large bottomless abyss called Guixu. The waters of all rivers, seas, oceans and even the celestial river (the Milky Way) flow into it and maintain a constant water level without raising or lowering it. Near Guixu, according to legend, there were five sacred mountains. All the buildings there are made of gold and jade, all the animals and birds of the sacred white color. After flowering, jade and pearl fruits appear on the trees, which taste good and bring immortality to those who eat them. Immortals also wear white robes, and have small wings on their backs.
In Japanese myths, there is a story about the Island of Eternal Youth, which is many days away, "in the country of unknown strangers." On it (as well as in the Novgorod legend) there is a world tree that grows on the Mount of Immortality.
Where is this unusual island, references to which ancient historians, geographers, poets have?
In the 12th century Monastic legends connected the localization of Avalon with Glastonbury Monastery in England, near the Welsh border, where the tomb of King Arthur was allegedly discovered. The later European (including the occult) tradition often identified the island of Thule with the Isles of the Blessed.
They are looking for him in the Faroe Islands, Canary Islands, Rügen, the British Isles, Malta. Most of all I like the version that it is located on the Serpent's Island, which is the territory of Ukraine, my Motherland. Who owns the Serpent, he owns Time - so the Tradition says.
Although, as usual, all this is very controversial.
The symbolism associated with the "islands of the blessed" - a glass tower, water, an eternal tree, birds, flowers, apples that give immortality, offered by magnificent women inhabiting the island, belongs to the archaic layer of tradition, i.e. extends to all cultural strata of the Indo-Europeans.
Isle of the Blessed (Isle of the Blessed, Isle of the Blessed) is one of the most important places of the Old Religion: it is its center, it is its stronghold, it is its source of magic, it is its pillar of power. This is what remains of the once flourishing magic of the Old Religion.
The island was once inhabited by High Priestesses and possibly their apprentices. Итак : Элизиум, Остров блаженных, Аваллон, поля Иалу, Елисейские поля, остров Вечной молодости , Остров Буян, Ирий, Счастливый остров, Вечный остров, остров Бессмертия.
В греческой мифологии " Элизий"- это также среда обитания смертных по окончании их земного существования. Правителем Острова блаженных является бог Крон. Души праведников гуляют по Елисейским полям — прекрасному лугу неувядающих цветов, окружённому сказочно красивым лесом, проводят время в беседах и наслаждаются вечной жизнью.
Позже, Вергилий- римский поэт рубежа Эр, автор "Энеиды" описывает его как место воздаяния для смертных.
Такой же «остров блаженных», который чаще всего находился на далеких «западных островах», в кельтской мифологии, называется «Аваллон» («Яблоко» или «Остров яблок»).
Кстати, бритты Соммерсета (Южная Британия), Аваллоном называли своего бога потустороннего мира. Его владения носили название Инис Аваллон, то есть "остров Аваллона".

Индоарии и китайцы- разные семьи народов, тем не менее, в китайских преданиях существует подробное описание островов Блаженных в трактате «Ли-цзы». В восточной части залива Бохай, далеко-далеко от берега находится большая бездонная пропасть, называемая Гуйсюй. Воды всех рек, морей, океанов и даже небесной реки (Млечного Пути) текут в неё и поддерживают постоянный уровень воды, не повышая и не понижая его. Около Гуйсюй, согласно преданиям, было пять священных гор. Все строения там из золота и нефрита, все звери и птицы священного белого цвета. После цветения на деревьях появляются нефритовые и жемчужные плоды, которые хороши на вкус и приносят бессмертие тем, кто их ест.На бессмертных также белые одежды, а на спине-маленькие крылья.
В японских мифах имеется сюжет об Острове вечной юности, который находится за много дней пути, «в стране неведомых чужестранцев». На нём (так же как и в новгородском предании) находится мировое древо,которое растет на горе Бессмертия.
Где же находится этот необычный остров, ссылки на который есть у древних историков , географов, поэтов?

Хотя, как обычно, все это очень спорно.
Символика, связанная с «островами блаженных» – стеклянная башня, вода, вечное древо, птицы, цветы, дающие бессмертие яблоки, предлагаемые великолепными женщинами, населяющими остров, принадлежит к архаическому слою традиции ,т.е. распространяется на все культурные слои индоевропейцев.
Остров Блаженных (Остров Благословенных, Isle of the Blessed) - одно из самых важных мест Старой Религии: это её центр, это её цитадель, это её источник магии, это её столп силы. Это то, что осталось от когда-то процветающей магии Старой Религии.
Когда-то остров населяли Верховные жрицы и, возможно, их ученики. Туда съезжались паломники и те, кто заключал сделки, прося помощи, соглашаясь на ритуал Жизнь за Смерть или услуга за услугу. Но после Великой Чистки остров пришёл в упадок и все маги и сторонники Верховных жриц и жрецов стали преследоваться.
Всю эту историю я узнала из энциклопедий и сборников мифов ПОСЛЕ написания картины. Ей нужно было давать имя, а в уме вертелось только одно слово – ЭЛИЗИУМ.
