“Joe's Garage” was my first introduction to Zappa's music after the Dutch dj Ad Visser devoted an evening show to this album. We're talking about 1979 and I was fifteen, the age when young people soak up everything they see and hear as a sponge. “Joe's Garage” was the starting point for me to delve further into Zappa's music, including his older work. I started collecting his records. For me there is a Zappa before and after “Joe's Garage”.
“Joe's Garage” is a three-part rock opera. The album is narrated by a government employee identifying himself as “The Central Scrutinizer”, who delivers a cautionary tale about Joe, a typical adolescent male who forms a band as the government prepares to criminalize music. The Central Scrutinizer explains that music leads to a "slippery slope" of drug use, disease, unusual sexual practices, prison, and eventually insanity.

Almost all my paintings are inspired by books or music, they are a tribute to a certain author, composer or artist and his/her work. Of course I would be happy if a painting encourages someone to read the book or listen to the music.
All works are ready to hang. The ecoline paintings are framed with a frame of your choice: light oak or black aluminum. The paintings have a passe-partout and a plate of glass on the front. Oil paintings have a wire on the back so they can be hung.
