An accumulation of all my experiences and beliefs, for me painting has become more than an expression of myself, the illustration of ideas, or simply an arrangement of form, it is an amalgam of all those concerns and an ongoing process of discovery and evolution that demands a union of intuition and intellect. This allows me to explore many diverse issues and create an Art of Questions. Working in this manner I am able to draw upon the visible world for inspiration, and also the personal, symbolic, and imaginative one within, to form a transcription of inner and outer awareness and an Icon of Reconciliation.

Artist Statement
This may be too confessional (?), but there are times when all the universe feels alive, and radiant, and connected, & it’s as if you’re looking out at the world and seeing nothing but innards. Then there are those other times… when you feel like an outsider right in the middle of it all. Or trapped in an eerily empty universe. Somehow my work is born from, and shaped by, the struggle of dealing with these two seemingly contradictory experiences. As well as the impulse to fill up space with something to make sense of it all.
