I was in love with you, Jacqueline, from the moment your earnest gaze met mine; we were just children. Years passed without my telling you how much you transformed my world. When I had already forgotten you, when we were already adults, something happened and your lips met mine (I guess I asked you out). Things didn't go so well after that; most of the consequences were my responsibility. I couldn't give you anything but trouble and that broke our hearts; my ineptitude and lack of openness.... Today we are five years apart that I can only measure in unfamiliarity; it's funny, after having seen and done so much in so many corners of the world, I still think of you, I still miss you.... Or maybe I just miss the possibility of having done everything differently. Isn't it ironic... we'll be two strangers... just as we began, we end.
