About the author
Very early fascinated by the meeting of watercolorists, it was the beginning of a passion which has not been denied: first watercolors in the 80s using the so-called “wet” technique which allows him to translate the atmospheres he likes: morning mists, heavy skies, reflections in the water, foam from the waves, city lights, anonymous silhouettes...a universe where gentleness mixes with solitude, strangeness, sometimes worry. He then held exhibitions in Paris and in several cities in France.
After a few years of interruption he tried oils, but all the work had to be done again to rediscover the blurred atmospheres of watercolors. The painting gains in richness and strength without denying its past.
Between the figurative and the abstract the border is often tenuous, sometimes depending on a minimal detail on which the eye finds a reference. F.WEBER's painting goes from one to the other, the luminous atmosphere and the movement taking precedence over the subject.
After Paris and other cities in France, François Weber's oils have crossed borders: Rome, Milan, Beijing, Shanghai, Nantong, New York.
