About the author
Studied painting and drawing in Edwood Park, New York in 1952. In 1960 she took advanced painting and drawing courses at the School of Plastic Arts of Maturin, where she was outstanding in her dominance of figurative compositions. In 1978, she studied and delved deeper into the human figure at the Camden Town Academy of London under the tutelage of the master, Jac Yates.
She has participated in prestigious collective exhibits, noteworthy among which are the following:
Cristo según el Arte Venezolano (Christ according to Venezuelan Art), at the Sala Pequiven March-April 1999, an inter-institutional exhibit promoted by: Petroquimica de Venezuela (Pequiven), the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB), Instituto teologico de Estudios Reigiosos (the Theological Institute of Religious Studies (ITER) and the Association of Graduate Students in Theology (pro-teología). Dios Padre creador (God, Father Creator), Andres Bello Catholic University (UCAB,1999); Bolivar, First Colombian-Venezuelan collective exhibit, Sala Pequive, July 1999; Cinco para el Mundo (Five for the World); Friends of the Museo Jacobo Borges, Caracas, September 1999; XXVIII Annual Painting Salon, La Guaira Chamber of Commerce, October 1999. In 1999 she had one-man shows in the Museo San Felipe El Fuerte, Yaracuy State and Museo Caracas. She recently received an award from the Museo Sacro de Caracas (the Religious Museum of Caracas) in the Creche competition for her work “El Portal” (The Portal), Traditional Painting”.
This artist has also shown her work in the San Felipe, Archeoligical Museum; the Museum of the Mayor’s Office of Libertador Municipality (Museo Caracas, 1999-2000) and the Museo Sacro de Caracas, 2000.
She exhibited in Italy in Museo del Sannio (Benevento), Castel dell'Ovo (Napoli), Istituto Italo Latino Americano (Roma), "Il Ramo d'Oro" centro d'arte e cultura (Napoli)
