Born in Oran, Algeria, Pierre-Yves Beltran is a French painter living and working in Aix-en-Provence.
Pierre-Yves Beltran studied architecture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Montpellier and Paris before devoting himself fully to painting. In 1979, he exhibited his pictorial work for the first time in Paris under the title of “Ecolines”. In 2005, he created in Montpellier "L'Atelier Librefigure", an associative place of exhibitions where he teaches Plastic Arts.
Pierre-Yves Beltran nourishes a rich and multifaceted pictorial research, painting as well on canvas as on paper, cardboard, glued papers or even driftwood. It combines oil paint, acrylic, gouache, oil pastel or ink, and tackles various themes. Sometimes in a “pseudo-figurative” style or in a resolutely abstract style, the artist uses a palette of intense and warm colors, translating his memories, his thoughts and his feelings on the canvas.
Since 1979, Pierre-Yves Beltran has increased personal and group exhibitions in France. His works are among many private collections in Europe and internationally.
