Having worked for nearly 30 years photographing performing artists has nourished and reinforced my fascination with the elements of an image - line, shape, movement ... - and for their interactions.
During the 90's, in addition to my commercial shooting, I began using traditional black and white laboratory techniques to transform my photos. I had previously explored these techniques in the 70's and extended this research in 1991 for the creation of several posters for the Paris Opera Ballet.
At first I “distilled” my photos down to their essential lines and shapes. Later I used images obtained by these means to create more or less abstract designs through multiplication and superimposition. Beginning in 2001 I adapted these techniques to digital image manipulation so as to integrate color into my work and take it to a higher level of complexity.
The images I’m creating today are “digital collages” wherein my transformed photos are superimposed so that they can interact and even interfere with one another. The strength and emotion of the lines and shapes of the human body in the photos I take for this work (essentially nudes and dance photos) manifest themselves in these images despite the transformations imposed on them stimulating the creation of complex and sensual compositions.

Caché dans une petite rue tranquille d'Asnières mon atelier est petit, un peu spartiate mais performant et bien équipé. Il me sert essentiellement pour mes prises de vues de portrait et pour les images destinées à mon travail plasticien.

C'est aussi mon laboratoire de dévelopement et de tirage noir et blanc.
