Article
In her art Natalia Hughson is trying to show the beauty that doesn’t exist in reality. The concept, idea, and hidden meaning of her paintings awake a viewer’s imagination and fantasy. She is not attached to one style. Meanwhile she has her favorite one – surrealism. Mostly she does oil paintings. Each painting profoundly differ from others. She doesn’t like to repeat herself. There are many sources for the imagery in her work, from the art historical to the vernacular, and they are often thrown into opposition with or played against one another. She is also time travel — from the distant to the recent past — in the same piece.
