Martemaniac

This is a small selection of my paintings where nudity is present, I decided to put them together even though they represent different themes and had been painted in different periods of my life only because it is much easier to browse by the viewers interested in this thematic.

When I was about to get my degree an art exposition was organized in my Art School at the Universidad de Costa Rica, I participated for the first time with a project I called with a name I don't remember anymore. Still, in it I was very critic about the importance beauty pageants would get in the media back in my country. Using "Mona Lisa" as the universal symbol of beauty. Torn, desecrated, ridiculized, sitting in a dumb chair witha a newspaper crown, looking like a disaster aftermath or sent to hell to pay for it's sins, Beauty manipulated by the mass media was for me like a "cadaver delicioso" to munch on. From there my history as an artist began, needless to say people really liked what I did and I burned out my first 5 minutes of fame.
