Manu Toxxic
Emmanuele is an Italy-based independent artist, mostly self-taught. Visual Arts have always been his main interest, including photography, drawing, illustration and, ultimately, watercolor painting.
A life abroad
Despite his artistic inclinations he took a degree in Aerospace Engineering and worked abroad for nine years. During all this time he continued spasmodically drawing at night and on weekends.
He attended evening drawing classes while working in Madrid and then basic of oil painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Como while living in Switzerland. He eventually discovered Watercolor painting in Lugano by chance, attending a course held by Department of Culture of the Canton Ticino. He have painted for a year at night, whatching DVDs and YouTube videos, at home.
The Watercolor
“I started thinking about watercolor because of logistical problems: at home we had that time a 3-year-old child and I couldn’t leave my paintings around. Watercolor is quick, it does not smell, it dries in few minutes and the equipment is lightweight and essential, the perfect solution for a family living in a flat. When I started using it I fell in love with it immediately!”
“Why do I love him so much? Well many reasons… The incredible technical challenge, the continuous struggle in controlling the water and for the spontaneity of execution.”
In 2014 he decides to quit his job to devote himself to full-time art and begins to participate in exhibitions in Italy, France and Spain. He keeps on attending watercolor courses with the greatest masters: Chien Chug Wei in Aosta 2015, Joseph Zbukvic in Milan 2016.
Despite this initial success, due to the divorce, he interrupted his artistic activity for three years, until 2019 when, during a trip to France, he met open and friendly people who believed in him, so that he found the motivation to come back painting and bet on his lifetime dream: Art as independent job.
Live and online classes
He teaches watercolour technique in his own Art Studio located in Lecco. He's available for personal and group classes. He also publish Video and Tutorial on Youtube.
"My little life, my little personal journey, made of ups and downs, of difficulties (which mostly I avoid telling!) as well as few but immensely fulfilling artistic achievements, are just an example on how you can follow your inspirations too."

View allCOSA DEVO SCRIVERE DI ME? -

They're right now at the Salon Dessin Peinture, @salondudessinetdelapeinturealeau at the Grand Opening, and by telephone I gave them support (very confused support, to tell the truth) to find my painting! The success of the event is enormous.

POURQUOI

FESTIVAL AIGUILLON
Hello,
I am very pleased to invite you at the Festival de l'aquarelle du Aiguillon, France. Vernissage 10 October 16:00
I will be very happy to meet you!!
A week in Languedoc-Roussillon
I'm back from a vacation in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. It has been a nice period. I've visited some villages in the Southern France and put some impressions in watercolor. I've appreciated the style of old buildings and the beautiful landscapes.
The architecture of the houses is very nice there. Turquoise and cerulean blues are widely used for windows. In the lovely village of Barjac I've taken some impressions in watercolor, trying to catch the morning lights on the building facades.

Beautiful watercolors
In January 2015 Informed Collector, Fine Art's site, spoke about my watercolors. I really appreciated the interest and positive comments.

An uncompleted building is used in many ways: walking area for dogs, smoking quiet zone, boat winter parking, but also as painting spot for watercolorists :)
This subject is both a cityscape and seascape, I think. The place is Palinuro, Italy.
En plein air sketch executed with minimal watercolor palette and a touch of green guache to realize some plants in the background (can you see it?). This was what the inspiration of the moment told me to do.
White skeleton
Watercolor and gouache. cm 27×40. Available. Click to enlarge

This impressive contrast is real: it is the white building of a museum in Lugano, standing in front of the lake. I decided to realize a mixed media painting in order to enjoy the maximum of the highlights contrasts and texture rendering.
Eyes climbing – the narrow streets
Watercolor 30×50 cm. Click to enlarge.
This strange perspective was suggested to me by my wide angle camera lens. The view of a plant climbing an old building’s facade was very fascinating. The light made the rest! It is Gandria village, on lake Ceresio, between Switzerland and Italy.

Lovely place: Marina di Camerota port. Deep Italy series.
This is my home place and it will never stop “envolving” and confusing me. It was my playground while I was young, and now is my preferred painting location. I ran upstairs and back hundreds of times between these buildings and boats. Some sailboats of them are still the same!
Please share if you like them, thanks!
