LEXYGIUS SANCHEZ CALIP b. March 24, 1974, Quezon City, Philippines, an interdiciplinary artist, He studied Fine Arts at the Technological University of the Philippines. He had several Solo Exhibitions at the Avellana Art Gallery since the late 1990's and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in the Philippines and abroad. A Freeman Fellowship Foundation Alumni for the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT, and attended a residency at The Stonehouse Residency for the Contemporary Art in California. A Thirteen Artist Awards Nominee at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and the Ateneo Art Awards at the Ateneo Museum of Modern Art. Had merits, recognitions and Honourable Mentions from the Arts Association of the Philippines and The Philip Morris Asean Art Awards. He held Art workshops and conducted lectures to different Art Institutions and Universities in the Philippines and the United States and has been mentioned as one of the “Current Trends in Abstraction” in the Philippines. He exhibits and works in both the Philippines and the United States and currently resides in Oakland California and mentains a studio at the Hunter's Point Studios in San Francisco.
