La Babssy was born in 1963 in Fontainebleau (France)
Youngest of a family of 4 children.
She has always loved everything manual and curious about the outlook on life.
She started as a photography lab technician. But she didn't want to stay in the dark all her life, so she left Fontainebleau to go south.
Like many young people, she did the seasons and developed a passion for traveling around the world.
In her thirties she married a Flemish man, had a daughter and has since lived in Belgium.
And there she returned to her old passions, manual work. She took sewing and sculpture classes, nothing to do with it, you might say, and yet the shapes when touched were definitely there.
A desire to put them on paper so she took some painting lessons to learn the techniques and voila the passion was born since then I can't stop. The first exhibition was in 2009 pushed by her entourage and little by little, one thing led to another, more and more exhibitions with professional and amateur artists.
She paints both in acrylic and oil depending on the weather outside. She is always in research, her abstract is influenced by her nature photos, one of her great sources of inspiration where she always takes long walks with her dog. And her other side the looks that speak, the portraits of today and yesterday very often inspired by old photos found on the markets to give color to black and white. And then there are the current portraits to mark time.
All the materials are ready to slip through his hands and be seen under his lens.
La Babssy is the artist name that her daughter gave her, a combination of Babeth Brécy.
