I have been struggling with selling and promoting my Art.  

I sell furniture and mattress sets at my day job.  Love selling, I interact with customers, am good at selling.  I have sold retail for over 30 years, from baby clothes to wedding gowns.

why is it so difficult for me to sell my own work???  It is frustrating!

Ok fellow Artists,  what makes you not get so discouraged?

i work a day job that does not pay enough.  The hours suck which cuts into my

creative time and working on my business.  

Help. I do not want to give up..,,,

any suggestions?

Good morning 

I have been busy.  Like so many others in the art field I am trying to 

make a living and still enjoy my art making.

My bread and butter lately seems to be memory quilts and bears.

I enjoy making them, but get so busy that I miss my art making.

Next week I hope to take a whole day to work on my art.

I gave a presentation at a local quilting guild last night, was nice to see

so many others enjoying the art.

January is almost over!  I have been sick twice....

unfortuntley I have not accomplished as much art as I had

wanted to.  Life happens!  So as soon as I finish a formal

dress for my granddaughter, I will work on my art .

in this time of turmoil please be nice to one another.

I am trying to stay positive.  Things are going to change over the next few years, some things we can control 

other things we can not.

staying positive as an artist can sometimes be hard.  I do think our art follows our feelings.

i for one hope to work in more bright cheery 

colors and designs.  Maybe we can all spread  a little happiness.  

Stay tuned for new designs and fun art .

I have dropped some of my prices.  My walls are filling up.

i will be working on more wearable art also.

I have had three days off from my day job, (got to pay the bills)

I organized my sewing studio, cleaned my apartment, played with two of my granddaughters.

I am going to sew today,  loosing my creative drive.

I love to create my art and teach.  People love my work , but it does not sell, is it the economy?

are my prices too high? I do not know???

I have the day off from my day job.  I am fighting a cold

Things are about to change good or bad .  We will all have to adjust.  Please remember to be kind.

Through our art, singing,painting,photographs,fiber what ever it may be.  Let us find happiness and calmness.

I for one plan on teaching some fiber art classes, to help people explore their feelings.  We need to be kind to everybody, no matter their race, religion, gender.

With love and kindness we will all survive.

I have been quilting like crazy! Lots of baby quilts,  time to work on a few Hslloween costumes. 

Then back to creating my fiber art.  I have a show next July.  Sold a few pieces at a gallery in

Wisconsin,  checking a few  local galleries .

I was commissioned a year ago to make a William  Morris quilt,  customer loved it.  She has asked

for  another quilt , can not wait to meet with her to discuss the pattern and colors!!

I love what I do !

I have been working like crazy.   Between my new day job and creating .

i am ready to quilt a special quilt for a fireman raffle.  If it does not rain I will do it tonight.  

Iam off to teach in the morning (quilting/sewing). Then fitting a bride for alterations.  

It pays the bills.  I will move in a few weeks can not edit to set up my studio, it has been 8

months without it, working out of my storage unit does not work well.

I am doing a photo shoot in October with my art work and studio watch got it.

it was a quick trip to Washburn Wisc.  But well worth it.

i took my cousin with me.  Introduced her to another world.  

Not a lot of people  came out to Metomitphosis north Gallery.

Those that came enjoyed the owners Judith and Gayle.

wine, chocolate, music and art ! Who could ask for more...

I had very good responses on my art work .

 I was encouraged to teach , which is my goal.

Time for a little sleep going to be a long week.

one day off this week from my day job.

working on memory bears for a client .

then off to teach a private sewing lesson .

hopefully back to work on some mini landscapes .

My art work is being display at Metamorphosis Gallery North in Washburn WI

until the end of August.  I will be there for a meet and greet July 22 from 5/7 pm.

there will be several artists, and just around the corner is a wonderful gallery, watercolor studio and a great coffee shop. 

In Bayfirld just a few miles away are many shops and great restaurants.

I lost my day job in Jan.   I have applied to at least 

500 places.  I have wonderful experience , but I do believe age has slot to do with it.

I feel I have at least 20 more years  if not more .

iam concentrating  on my art and teaching in hopes that it turns in to more.

i do enjoy shutting my self in my sewing studio and creating! 

 In life I still have bills to pay, car, car insurance , health insurance ., UT's. Then there is that matter of food and art supplies .

struggling is not what I want to do. So off to the studio to create in the hopes that I get a break one day soon!

I am off to the quilt show and exhibit hall tomorrow .  Held in Chicago.  

My daughter and I are going to scout out some new fabric dyes and paints !

I am so excited to be going with her and be surrounded by so many artists.

so I have been unemployed for three months

hello

i moved out of my apartment and into a friends house.   I am working on my art work, looking for galleries that 

will show and sell my work.  I am also teaching private sewing and quilting Lessons.

I will be looking for part time work also.  

Busy,  busy but I am happy and less stressed

i am starting my New Year off with a new landscape piece.   I started it about 3:30am. I could not sleep.  This will make for a long day at the quilt shop.  So worth it! To be able to create.

this picture shows a start I can not wait until I can add a few more trees and start the embellishments to the sky.

It is almost 7am.  Time to start some cooking.

maybe get a little sewing in.  The year is almost over and we start a new

one.  I wish everyone a wonderful Holiday season, what ever your celebrations.

I hope we can make 2016 a  Peaceful,  Loving, place to live and work around the world.
