Artist Mika lives in Hoofddorp and works in Haarlem in her Studio "Ateleen".
More than 25 years ago, started Mika with her autonomous art.
For ten years she also worked as a teacher in Arts.

She paints mostly portraits of people and animals, and gives painting workshops and lessons in her studio.

About its autonomous work:
"from an early age I drew and painted a lot.
Growing up on a farm, philosophize and observing, in the schoolyard and in the wandering and daydreaming outdoors nature, of an existence as an artist.
My work includes oil paintings, but I also make use of acrylic, mixed media on canvas.
What fascinates me is especially the "figurative symbolism", man, animal, nature, the portrait and especially what's going on behind that portrait, whether human, animal or thing is. "
