The Gates VI Sculpture by Cristherart

I inherited from my Transylvanian ancestors the artistic talent, the skills and love to carve and shape the wood. After I painted hundreds of paintings and many walls of Orthodox Churches, I developed a new technique to make my paintings come alive.
The way I shape and paint the wood gives the viewer a beautiful flowing illusion that becomes addictive. In a fluid way, the shapes are fusing together revealing the mystery of a legend caught in a symbol.
The warmth of the material and the way it can be modeled made me fall in love with the wood. This is the biggest reason I choose to hand craft my pieces with traditional vintage tools instead of using mechanical tools and machinery.
