Interview for the magazine "the common good".

D- You have no academic artistic training; by architecture studies he had undertaken, he came gradually to the art and in particular to sculpture; She wants to mark the stages of this route?
R- I have not approached gradually to art: I've always practiced in drawing shapes, painting and finally in some studies carried out in the Faculty of Architecture. The most recent work of the sculptor or better composition through materials such as iron and stone, is a natural harbor at the confluence of my previous artistic knowledge and my predisposition. A call where a newly arrived ship leaves again for another fascinating and mysterious journey. J.Hillman says: "We are all born with an acorn", we all have an inner predisposition. I see the child who draws cartoons, I see the teenager with leaves under his arm, pencils and colors in the hand, which in the open draws trees and bell towers. I see the young restless who throws color on the canvas. I can still see a man to watch, draw and learn, classical capitals and modern concrete sails, outside and inside himself. And I still see a man in a thousand torments leaves a city and work to fulfill a desire to open an art studio. I understand now the phrase Hillman.
D- What materials are using for his works?
R- iron, stone, copper, acrylic, glass. architecture materials, produced industrially. But also pieces, scraps of them arising from a previous machining them. The fragment gives me a lot of interest. Today's reality and past comes to us and is revealed through the fragment.
D- he can in a short outline, the research perspective along which went defining his poetry?
R- In my research the essence, the concept and abstraction are important factors. In addition, a 'work which is to have a wide-ranging, must contain truth, beauty, research, humanity, mystery and poetry.
Q- What are the artistic experiences which feels somewhat related and sculptors who have most influenced you?
R- I feel especially linked Italians artists of the years 50-70. An art so abstract, conceptual, minimalist, but also full of vivacity and art research. The sculptors who have definitely influenced and fascinated me, are sculptors such as Boccioni, Marino Marini, Melotti, and Arnaldo Pomodoro, Fontana, Somaini, Giacometti, appreciating more contemporary ones like Toni Benetton and Staccioli, until you come to younger artists like Vanessa Beecroft, and Cattelan. But many other artists dear to me, and not contemporaries, it would remain to sue.
