This painting "Flower of Life 2.0" was created in peaceful Denmark. This is a copy of my painting that was sold a few years ago. After the first wave of hostilities in Ukraine in 2014-2015, this work became a life affirmation for me. I wanted to believe in a peaceful future and common sense people.

Unfortunately, February 24, 2022, has come. I met this day with horror. I did not believe that this could repeat. Now my whole country is been shelling. I cried, looking at what the enemies were doing to Mariupol. The whole city was wiped off the face of the earth.

But I still believe that it will be revived and remain Ukrainian. This painting was created with faith, where the girl is the embodiment of victory and peace for all Ukrainians.

The painting was sold at the exhibition in Copenhagen, Denmark. An exact copy is impossible.

Eleonora Taranova was born in a small Ukrainian town in 1971. As a child, she lived in a village house with animals and observed their behavior. She learned to portray the emotions and movements of pets on her own since there was no art school in the town.

After working as a teacher at a higher school for over 20 years, she quit her job for health reasons and took up painting as a hobby. Now she is working as a full-time artist in animalistic and figurative genres for the last 13 years.

Eleonora draws inspiration from the rock carvings' simplicity and expressiveness, the emotionality of the works of Rembrandt and Vrubel, the human form depiction of Francis Bacon, and bright colored works of Franz Mark. Her latest discovery is the works of Danish artist Oluf Hartmann, in which she finds answers to her questions.

Fleeing the war, Eleonora appeared in Denmark where she is based now. The artist researches emotions with the aim of opposing and finding common ground between human and animal psychology. She awakens empathy and pays tribute to animals that fill our lives with devotion and love, and inspire us with their natural beauty. The artist speaks for those who cannot speak for themselves.
