As an artist I have always been inspired by the magical movement of schools of fish, and the colours of the ocean. As an artist I have always been inspired by the magical movement of schools of fish, and the colours of the ocean. I try to capture the energy of these underwater scenes by keeping the paintings slightly abstract. In this piece I have used a simple colour scheme of turquoise for the water, and black or white for the fish. Even though the black fish are in the shadows, in reality they are in the foreground, so are painted last to create a sense of depth.

From drawing dinosaurs, cars and designing football jersey's as a small child, to crazy abstract paint splashes as a big child, Art has always been a part of my life. I studied the traditional masters, and practised their techniques in my early years, but have since broadened my strokes to have the confidence to paint in whatever style inspires me in that moment. I cannot, and will not paint the same style over and over again, there is way too much fun to be had exploring all styles. Art for Art sake!
I am passionate about Art, and I hope that is evident in my work. I have so much more to paint, and it feels like so little time to paint it. I cannot wait to see where my inspiration takes me next.
