Tiffany's opus #9 (1978) Schilderij door Bobette Stanbridge

Bobette was trained in fashion design at Los Angeles Trade Tech. and Advertising Illustration at the Los Angeles Art Center College of Design. She was also given private lessons in creating Supergraphics and sign painting at various sign shops in New York and Ventura California. Bobette has owned her own Supergraphic and sign business in Los Angeles as well as upstate New York throughout her career as an artist. She was hired to design a series of characters and illustrations in the 70’s. These images were then put onto tote bags, pillows, quilts, shoe bags and t-shirts and sold nationally via the finest department stores.
In the 90’s Bobette was hired to create a theme for the Ventura Harbor Village in Ventura California and to choose the colors for the buildings...a public commission.
She has written and illustrated 4 children’s books she calls Bunky Books, created several series of fine art paintings, painted murals, signs and designed graphic art for many clients over the past several decades.
Bobette has also painted several series of paintings in various mediums throughout her career. Her latest series is what she calls her decade series. She has completed 6 decade paintings of the first half of the 20th Century depicting popular American culture. Each one is painted with oil paints on Masonite board. Originals measure 4’ x 6’. They take between 4 & 6 months to finish.
Bobette’s work is currently displayed at the Art Avenue Galleries, Artfinity in Sarasota Florida. Has exhibited in New York and Oregon also.
Bobette raised 2 children and has 2 grandchildren. She was born and raised in West Los Angeles. She loves to dance, sing, draw, paint, design, write, play piano, illustrate stories and commune with nature.
