I have finished work on a new picture from the series "Disappearing Treasures". This time the hero of the canvas is a pangolin - one of the most unusual animals in the world, an ancient creature (the first finds date back to 70 million years ago). Unfortunately, this animal is on the verge of extinction. However, almost no ordinary predator can handle it. It is very easy to catch up with pangolin (it moves on two legs 5 km per hour maximum), but it is a big problem to open it, because it is a "stone ball". Only a leopard or a lion can boast of skills in opening pangolins. But even here, predators are in danger. If the pangolin can be opened, it releases a smelly mixture that immediately drives away the enemy.
So why is pangolin dying out? The answer is simple - the fault of "perfect" predators - people. Because people have tasted the meat of these animals, as well as the magical characteristics of scales attributed to many peoples, they are simply contributing to the mass extermination of these unique animals, which threatens their complete extinction. And you know what the paradox is ?! Many people in the world do not even know about the existence of this animal, and there is a good chance that they will be able to learn about pangolins in the near future, only from books, as animals that once lived on Earth, lived happily for about 70 million years. until one day they met people ... And I want to say: "People, quench your appetites!"

My name is Anna Shabalova and I`m full-time and independent professional artist from Ukraine. In many of my works, you will find kind of surreal stories filled with positive imagery, vibrant colors, and unexpected details, in which my personal view of such a rich world around us is reflected. With the help of different images in my paintings, I conduct a dialogue with the audience, often touch upon important social topics, but I speak in positive key. That`s why customers like to participate in such dialogues so much. I consider myself a multi-dimensional artist as my primary painting style is surrealistic. Every day I look around me, and I find many subjects for my works. Often, nature inspires me: I like to take, as a basis for my paintings, the elements of flora and fauna, the images that seemed to us so familiar, and fill them with a completely different meaning! I know that I always have something to tell people, and with the help of my art, I create my own picture of the world. My artworks are found in private collections in the USA, Israel, Europe, and Ukraine. Among my works, customers will find that special painting that will perfectly decorate their interior.
