Moses Baite

Artist (Painting)
Born 1986
Delaroke Art Gallery

Moses Baite is a graduate of the University of Port Harcourt where he earned both Bachelor's and Masters in painting from the Department of Fine Arts and Design.

Working primarily with oil and acrylics, his oeuvre is centered around social commentary and everydayness through scenes of historic highlights and daily life respectively. In his works, we are confronted by vivid colours, carefree but seemingly calculated strokes - fabricated to give either clear cut figures or those of loosely detailed attributes.

With selected works, Baite blurs the line between the abstract and figu-rative, allowing viewers to encounter both in one configuration. He is based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria and runs his studio out of the same town.
