Mystic Sea is a bnw photograph with a splash of orange. Consisting of two images. One of a 60-foot dock extended into an early morning fog. By itself, it was an okay image of three boats. Adding the picture of the nearby dock and rotating it by 90 degrees was a happy accident and gave the image a Rorschach effect and a mysterious luminosity. The combined[...]
Mystic Sea is a bnw photograph with a splash of orange. Consisting of two images. One of a 60-foot dock extended into an early morning fog. By itself, it was an okay image of three boats. Adding the picture of the nearby dock and rotating it by 90 degrees was a happy accident and gave the image a Rorschach effect and a mysterious luminosity. The combined result achieves a reflective symmetry yet abstract, open to interpretation. The monochromatic tones of black & white further soften an already ethereal visual. Thus relaxing the viewer and drawing them in.
Mystic Sea was featured In this year's AQUA 22 part of Art Basil 2022. The photograph has won several awards in the annual Black & White exhibition hosted by The Art Room /Brooklyn, NY. (Second place)
