un juste équilibre à trouver.
Cette peinture fait partie de mon travail sur l'universalité des références à la nature chez les humains. Les hommes font référence aux animaux aussi bien chez les populations proches de la nature (amérindiens...) que chez ceux qui avait déjà commencé à s'en éloigner (comme les princes et courtisans des cours royales européennes du 17-ème siècle ). Et nos villes et leurs habitants se sont encore plus coupées de la nature ...
Les fables de Jean de Lafontaine continue à refléter les travers des humains à notre époque. Tout comme les arts des peuples premiers parlent à chacun au travers de notre humanité commune.
Cette série rend hommage à l'art amérindien des peuples de Colombie Britannique. Les salishs notamment. Elle rend également hommage à Jean de Lafontaine.
La fusion toute personnelle de ses deux sagesses en des dessins librement inspirés visent en une quête de la quintessence de l'humain.
J'utilise l'encre de chine un médium symboliquement très puissant, ainsi que des encres et stylo gel blanc. Les feuilles dorés symbolisent qui peuvent briller à la lumière symbolisent la sagesse qui peut se voir si on l'éclaire, mais qui disparaît presque dans la trame de la toile beige sans lumière si la lumière ne l'éclaire pas directement. Symboliquement, cette référence à l'or permet de mettre en avant la différence entre un signe de richesse matériel, terre à terre, omniprésente dans notre monde matérialiste globalisé, et une richesse spirituelle la sagesse humaine qui ne brille et n'est ainsi révéler que quand elle est mise en lumière.
LA CIGALE ET LA FOURMI
La Cigale, ayant chanté tout l'été,
Se trouva fort dépourvue
Quand la bise fut venue.
Pas un seul petit morceau
De mouche ou de vermisseau.
Elle alla crier famine
Chez la Fourmi sa voisine,
La priant de lui prêter
Quelque grain pour subsister
Jusqu'à la saison nouvelle.
Je vous paierai, lui dit-elle,
Avant l'août, foi d'animal,
Intérêt et principal.
La Fourmi n'est pas prêteuse ;
C'est là son moindre défaut.
Que faisiez-vous au temps chaud ?
Dit-elle à cette emprunteuse.
Nuit et jour à tout venant
Je chantais, ne vous déplaise.
