The painting is part of a series that deals with the theme of the feminine in the light of the violent trail of feminicides perpetrated in our contemporary era and through a language that recalls the medieval or Renaissance Madonnas who never smiled. The women portrayed in these images are in fact gloomy and sad and present classic religious elements such as the halo or the crown of thorns. The ocher background recalls the gold of Klimt's paintings, which symbolized the decadence of an era. The fluorescent color, on the other hand, is a disturbing and contemporary element, which recalls a typical language of street art and graffiti as a form of diffusion of a message within everyone's reach.
