Evergreen (2023) Photography by Aleksej Kornev

I started getting interested in photography about ten years ago. There was a long break in creativity, after which I opened the world of macro photography, which allows me to create interesting pictures: from landscapes to portraits. In 2023, I think I have come a long way from my first experiments in working with abstract categories that grew from a photograph of my mother turned upside down and processed using the curves tool in Photoshop, in which I saw the evolution of humanity during the processing process. To... You can judge for yourself what has grown. It’s funny to look at that photo now, the images are simply ugly, but it was a colossal experience. I see digital art (and it’s difficult to call these creations pure photography) as my main occupation in life. Many of the (yet unpublished) images are inspired by the comedy-horror film "The Society" by Brian Yuzna. Interweaving, interchangeability, the dissolution of people from each other, I try to bring all this, to the best of my ability (which sometimes is not enough, because the topic is difficult), into the finished image.
