I was born in Poland on March 22, 1979. I have always drawn and painted.
I come from a town of coal mines, I am surrounded by neo-Gothic monuments in red brick, by the facades of Art Nouveau buildings and by "German" buildings for the workers of the early twentieth century. Everything is often black and gray because of the coal dust, it comes in from everywhere.
In the "Communist" era there was not much entertainment on TV, we only had two channels, so I spent my free time outside in the yard with other children.
My paternal grandfather has a garden, there are roses, peonies, field flowers, fruit trees. I love to watch the beauty of flowers.
My father always buys me beautiful pastels, crayons, quality paints, he shows me how to draw and how to paint. The walls of the living room of our little studio are decorated with still lifes painted by my father.
My mother embroiders colorful flowers, birds and butterflies on white canvas. She often buys me books with beautiful illustrations.
When I was a child, the images in children's books and cartoons were very artistic, unusual, original, they awaken the imagination and a refined gaze. It has nothing to do with the kitschy Disney aesthetic that kids today are surrounded by.
I spend a lot of time dreaming and imagining. Drawing and painting is easy and natural for me, I come from a family of "manuals".
No matter what medium I work on or what technique I use, I am always drawn to shapes and colors. The images often come "on their own" to me, I just have to put them down on paper or on a canvas.
My great inspiration is Nature and the works of other artists. I really like Art Nouveau, Symbolism, the Pre-Raphaelites and so many others.
Art is what I love the most in my life :)
