Il a abordé dans sa jeunesse la peinture par le figuratif : paysages et natures mortes. Après une longue période d'inactivité il a repris ses pinceaux à l'âge de la retraite
Il a découvert un autre univers : l'abstrait. L'oeuvre d'Hans Hartung fût un choc pour lui.Il était en adéquation avec cet univers pictural d'abstraction lyrique.
Son domaine préféré est de peindre à l'acrylique avec parfois des collages de papier sur la toile, pour créer des reliefs ou encore l'utilisation occasionnelle d'encre de chine et de sable.
Le fusain lui plait beaucoup, il pratique un dessin d'improvisation rapide gestuel qu'il laisse reposer pour revenir «à froid» dessus à la gomme, jusqu'à ce qu'il trouve le résultat aussi satisfaisant que possible ! .
Il trouve son inspiration dans les textes bibliques la musique et les thèmes que l'actualité développe . Sa technique doit beaucoup au Jazz et à la musique d'improvisation. Il peint dans cette optique, trouvant sa voie par les chemins de traverse à la recherche d'horizons nouveaux .
Il explore aussi l'art virtuel du numérique qui ouvre des portes insoupçonnées en utilisant parfois ses travaux personnels comme base de travail.
