关于作者
To create pictures that evoke "meaningfulness" is Edwin Jumalon's constant goal in his art practice.
His painting is shaped through various juxtaposition of images within a single work- images he culls from memory, the internet, mags, his own photographs and drawings. He builds up the work randomly, inventing visual narratives by combining disparate images from local myths, life events and personal history. He blends and extends the journey of these forms toward their final painted 'destination'.
Through integration, balancing and filtering of eclectic symbols, the artist creates layered narratives and metaphors in his paintings; paintings that evoke rather than describe.
