MATT SESOW a commencé à peintre en 1993 comme passe-temps pendant le soir et le week-end, comme pour échapper à sa vie de programmateur pour IBM. Cette envie de s’exprimer par la peinture lui vient de son enfance. Il a grandit dans les terres cultivées du Nebraska aux Etats Unis et vit maintenant à Washington DC.
A 11 ans, Matt est heurté par le propulseur d’un avion lors de son atterrissage. De cet accident, le jeune Matt en ressort amputé de sa main dominante. Ce traumatisme d’enfance est pour lui le déclencheur principal, le long processus de guérison l’amène à prendre une décision qui va bouleverser sa vie : il s’exprimera à travers la peinture.
Exposé aux Etats Unis et dans des galeries du monde entier, ses œuvres font déjà partie intégrante de nombreuses collections d’ART BRUT.
La GALLERY 555 est heureuse de présenter "Animal Instinct", exposition solo de MATT SESOW du 7 mai au 28 juin 2014.
Cette exposition regroupe une trentaine d'oeuvres, d’une intensité rare, réalisées spécialement pour cette exposition française sur papier et sur toile.
