Nach dem Kunststudium in Braunschweig arbeitete Peter Stahr in den Bereichen Malerei, Medienkunst, Webdesign und als Lehrer mit verschiedenen Ausstellungen in Deutschland. Seit 2021 arbeitet er ausschließlich als freischaffender Künstler mit einem Atelier in Göttingen. Stahr malt abstrakte Landschaften aus seinen Gefühlen und Erinnerungen. Er hat viele Jahre am Meer gelebt und in seiner Jugend verschiedene Windsurfschulen im Mittelmeer geleitet. In seiner Gemäldeserie „Magic Landscapes“ wird der Betrachter auf innere Entdeckungsreisen eingeladen, die ihn an persönliche (Sehnsuchts-)Orte führen, die Gefühle und Erinnerungen wecken. Seine abstrakten Landschaften bewegen sich oft zwischen Gegenständlichkeit und Abstraktion. In der Gemäldeserie „Neue Wege“ bringt er auch seine eigenen Ängste vor der Gegenwart und der Zukunft zum Ausdruck. Diese Gemälde können zum Nachdenken anregen und auf emotionaler Ebene verschiedene Assoziationen hervorrufen. Er arbeitet gerne in großen Bildformaten mit Acryl oder Acryl-Mischtechnik auf Leinwand. In seinen Werken mischt er Acryl mit verschiedenen Pigmenten, Dispersionen, Pasten, Erden und anderen Materialien. Neben Form und Farbe wird auch das Material als Trägermedium hinzugefügt. So entstehen vielschichtige, detailreiche Werke mit großer Tiefe.
