Seit 2006 male ich. Angefangen habe ich, nachdem ich einen Film über den Maler J.W. Turner gesehen hatte.
Zunächst habe ich 4 Jahre lang Bilder nach Vorlage gemalt. Hauptsächlich hatten es mir Meeresmotive angetan. Stundenlang habe ich Fotos von Kunstwerken, Karten etc. herausgesucht und genau studiert und mich gefagt: "was gefällt mir an diesem Bild besonders; worauf kann ich beim Malen nicht verzichten?" Nach 4 Jahren intensivstem Malen habe ich aufgehört. Ganz plötzlich. 2 Jahre malte ich gar nicht mehr.
Dann kam die freie Phase. Ich malte ganz ohne Vorlage. Jetzt entstehen meine Bilder ohne Plan und Ziel. Ich male, weil ich malen muss: ich habe den Drang dazu. In den allermeisten Bildern wechseln freie Phasen mit kontrollierten Phasen.
Durch das Malen verstehe ich mich und die Welt tiefer. Es ist unendlich und immer wieder neu. Mir scheint die Malerei unerschöpflich.
