Michael Rehr-Hoffmann, geboren 1957, ist ein deutscher Künstler, der an der Fachhochschule für Gestaltung in Hamburg Illustrations- und Kommunikationsdesign studiert hat. Über 30 Jahre lang war er als Grafik-Designer in verschiedenen Bereichen der Werbung und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit in Lüneburg tätig. Nach seinem Berufsleben hat er sich zurückgezogen und begann 2016 wieder mit der Malerei, wobei er zunächst Zeichnungen und Farbskizzen erstellte. Das war der Startschuss. Seine Werke, die unzählige Zeichnungen und Gemälde umfassen, wurden bereits in regionalen Ausstellungen in und um Lüneburg gezeigt.
Ein Hauptthema in seinen Werken ist das Stillleben, bei dem jeder Gegenstand eine Bedeutung hat und dem Betrachter etwas erzählen möchte. Darüber hinaus taucht der Mensch als soziales Wesen, sowohl allein als auch in der Gruppe, in vielen seiner Zeichnungen und Gemälde auf. Seine Werke sind oft unbeabsichtigt komisch, aber niemals belehrend. Stattdessen möchte er, dass das Publikum die Deutungsarbeit übernimmt und seine Werke auf eigene Weise interpretiert.
