Car Laurent Perbos raconte des histoires : de celles que le gamin chanceux se promet devant sa boîte de Caran d'Ache neuve. En bon post-moderne, il remixe pêle-mêle paysages fantastiques (tremplins sportifs démesurés de type « Jacques et le haricot magique », scènes de chasse exotiques...), ersatzs de nature modifiée (arcs-en-ciel brisés, rochers inquiétants, souches psychédéliques...), et références à une histoire de l'art classique (le « Martyr » de Saint Sébastien) et conceptuelle (les « Compositions » de Mondrian) avec malice ou gravité, c'est selon.
