Als Schülerin einer Privatschule mit unter anderem künstlerischem Schwerpunkt begann Regina Hermann bereits als Jugendliche mit dem detailgetreuen Zeichnen, später kam dann die Acrylmalerei hinzu. Hier waren es meist großformatige, farbstarke, abstrakte Farbkompositionen. Die Farbflächen wurden immer differenzierter, die verwendeten Pigmente, Hilfsmittel und Strukturmittel immer vielfältiger.
Als weiteres Ausdruckmittel entdeckte sie Speckstein, der mit seiner ganz individuellen Färbung eine faszinierende und meist unberechenbare Komponente in die Skulpturen bringt. Der Rohstein, meist unscheinbar und eher farblos, zeigt seine wunderbare Färbung und Maserung erst durch die abschließende Oberflächenbehandlung und die Farben kommen dann eindrucksvoll zur Geltung.
Und schließlich erweitert nun die Ölmalerei das Spektrum der Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten. Es entstehen in dieser Technik großformatige, meist Fotorealistische Werke.
Von der präzisen Planung bis zur Fertigstellung kann solch ein Bild 2-3 Monate benötigen.
