Employant le style figuratif en portraits et paysages, Christel développe son style en étant inspirée par des peintres de l'école aussi bien académique qu'impressionniste, mais qui ont en commun une extrême sensibilité dans leur approche figurative : Leonardo, Sargent, Murillo, Monet, Millet, Bouguereau.
Sa technique de peinture consiste en l'application d'huiles sur toile, ou panneau de bois, mêlées à des pigments sélectionnés pour leur richesse. Elle réalise également des dessins au fusain à l'aide de craies de fusain et poudre de fusain.
