My name is Yulia Rossan and I welcome you to my painting studio page!
I was born and raised in Siberia, Russia, surrounded by inspiring wildlife and the power of lakes and mountains; the power of the taiga. Within this atmosphere of total freedom, I have been creating for over 15 years.
My works are included in private collections in the USA and Russia, amongst others.
The story of how I became an artist is unusual. I used to work for the Russian police within a very strict framework and tough discipline, circumstances that didn't allow me to develop my creativity and express myself and my emotions through it.
So I decided to make a radical change in my life, leave it all behind and become a full-time artist.
I created my oil paintings on canvas, until I discovered digital painting - my new passion - which gave me more opportunities to express myself.
I am a big fan of oil painting, so I made digital "oil" painting my main style of work.
All my drawings are freehand images, as if I were drawing with a brush and paints, but instead of a brush, I have a graphic stylus and a tablet instead of a canvas!
Each of my paintings represents my sensual perception of the world. I convey a deeper, subtle and emotional colouring to mundane things; to what seems simple at first glance. We all have our own universe inside, which means that behind a simple gesture, body position or smile, there is a hidden meaning.
My art is my way to give shape and expose those hidden emotions. I encourage viewers to pay attention to the titles of my works and their descriptions to look behind the curtains of everyday life through my art!
