Le personnage de Barnabé qu'il a crée en 2003, est devenu l'élément emblématique de sa création. Il a conquis un large public par sa plastique épurée et son effet intemporel qui renvoie le spectateur à sa propre interprétation. Outre ses formes rondes, son visage réduit à un schéma est un masque où l'on se projette. Son visage devient universel de par sa simplicité extrême.
Ses personnages mis en scène, malgré leurs occupations banales, transmettent un sentiment de plénitude et d'intense méditation. Ils vous interpellent et vous interrogent sur vous-même. Une quête d'intériorité où le temps semble suspendu.
Hervé expose en France et en Belgique. Il a participé à deux résidences d'artistes en Chine, en 2017 et 2018, et à une résidence en Italie à Montemurro en 2019. Il expose dans des salons comme le salon d'automne ou le salon national des Beaux Arts à Paris.
