Sinds 2013 zijn wij, Lene en Jean, een (kunstenaars)koppel. Onze kunstwerken op zijde zijn meestal geïnspireerd op gezamenlijke wereldreizen, op de schoonheid van de natuur of op onze ongebreidelde fantasie.
We schilderen op zijde: een eeuwenoud edel materiaal dat toch verrassend modern kan gebruikt worden.
Zelf heb ik regentaat plastische kunsten gestudeerd. De microbe van het zijde-schilderen heeft mij gebeten tijdens een vakantiecursus in Frankrijk in 1985. Na verdere privé-scholing gaf ik enkele jaren avondles.
Mijn partner Jean heeft zijn sporen verdiend tijdens het werken in verschillende musea waaronder het SMAK ten tijde van Jan Hoet.
Toen wij elkaar leerden kennen, was het naast het reizen, de creatieve geesten die ons op een gezamenlijk spoor brachten. Het spoor dat ons de weg toonde naar Art Majeur en diens mogelijkheden voor kunstenaars.
Wij vinden inspiratie in meerdere kunstenaars, maar kiezen onze eigen weg om ons te uiten.
