Ik ben Willemijn Mensens en een autodidact schilder met een enorme passie voor kunst. Ik schilder omdat ik het leuk en ontspannend vind en doe dit op een manier die ik op dat moment wil uitproberen, vandaar de diversiteit in mijn schilderijen!
Als verf gebruik ik altijd acryl. Voor het schilderdoek gebruik ik altijd canvas. Mijn schilderijen werk ik af met een laag vernis zodat u er lang veel plezier aan kunt beleven. Het kleurgebruik varieert van ton sur ton tot kleurrijk, al naar gelang de stemming of het gekozen onderwerp (of beide).
Mijn werk varieert van abstract tot figuratief. De ene keer wordt het zacht en mysterieus, een andere keer brutaal en fel uitgewerkt. De verf wordt in vele lagen opgebracht. Een contrast tussen beweging en stilte is vaak terug te vinden in mijn werk. Ik hou ervan om met verschillende thema’s bezig te zijn en experimenteer graag met technieken. In mijn stijl van werken is een grote variëteit waar te nemen welke mijn brede interesses weerspiegelen.
Niet het eindresultaat is voor mij het belangrijkste, maar de weg er naar toe!
