“I spent hours looking at the beautiful panoramic view of San Giorgio Maggiore”, said Zelie.
She made several sketches and plein air paintings during her stay in Venice. When she came back to her studio, she had so much to convey in colours and to pour her inexplicable feelings into canvas.
This work is painted on a deep-edged, gallery-wrapped canvas (Width 4cm). The painting continues around the edge of the canvas and so may be hung unframed.

Zelie Alice is a Maldivian artist based in Paris, France. Her work is inspired by nature, trees, landscapes, country cottages, and ever-changing seascapes. While her subject matter varies, she is drawn to the fluidity of nature and its ability to transform. She primarily works with acrylic and oil, allowing her to build texture and depth. Her artistic journey has been shaped by the diverse places she has called home and traveled, each influencing her perspective on color, movement, and human connection to nature. Through her work, she explores the emotional and visual dialogue between landscapes and memory.
In 2022, her artwork entered the permanent collection of the National Art Museum of China in Beijing—one of the most prestigious and largest museums in the world. Her paintings are also held in permanent collections in China and Singapore, as well as in private collections, luxury hotels, and resorts across Asia, Europe, Australia and the USA.
