Linda Martin is a freelance artist/illustrator, born (Linda Croucher) in Sydney, Australia. She began to seriously study art at the age of fourteen, under the guidance of Raymon de Cusack.

Those early years proved to be a solid foundation for her qualifications in showcard and ticketwriting, information technology and fine arts, and successes in both commercial and fine arts. From 1985 to 1995 Linda taught art and exhibited throughout the central west of New South Wales.

Then, seeking a more temperate climate, she moved northward where she found inspiration in the natural beauty of the mid-north coast.

Not long after her arrival in the region she was commissioned to illustrate “A Biblical Herbal”, client Earth Images. This book was highly commended for its design at the 1998 Christian Book of the Year Awards.

A series of her written and illustrated stories for children was published on-line in 1999 … client Navneet.

Although Linda works in pastel, acrylics and watercolours, her most recent achievements have been in the field of digital art, resulting in three cyber-awards and a third place in MOCA’s digital art contest 2001.

She represented Australia at India’s first International Digital Art Exhibition at the Oxford Gallery, Calcutta, in December 1999 and at a second exhibition held at the Nehru Gallery, Mumbai, in 2000.
These works were reviewed in the February issue of India’s design magazine “Inside Outside”.

Also in the year 2000 Linda was featured artist on the Digital Art Museum website.

At the invitation of Dr Rodney Chang (Hawaii) her first solo exhibition, entitled “Horizon 2001” opened at in December 2000, showing til May, 2001.

Prints of Linda’s digital creations were hung at the recent SOKI International Illustration Exchange exhibition at the Gallery Wooduk, Seoul, Korea.

As a result, in May 2001 her work was a special feature in the ‘Who’s Who’ section of the Korean magazine Design News Week.

At the 2003 annual Easter Port Macquarie art show, Linda's digital montage "Kindred Spirits" was awarded first prize in the computer-generated section.

In June 2003 the Cafe Blue Frog in Wauchope featured her solo exhibition entitled "New Generation'.

David Malikoff's stunning presentation of Beowulf, August 2003, featured Linda's digital images on-stage, each one printed onto fine fabric, framed and backlit, size 4' x 3' ... now on tour, including the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2004.

In January 2005 Linda was awarded a full residential scholarship to study Botanical Illustration with tutor Barbara Duckworth at Charles Sturt University (Mitchell College Summer School).

At the 2005 annual Easter Port Macquarie Art Exhibition, her digital image"Funnyland" won first prize in the computer-generated section.
